Yenkay lives with her mother and stepfather. Her father passed away when she was 2 years old. Yenkay’s mother grows and sells vegetables. Her stepfather is a construction worker, but he chooses not to provide for her education because she is not his biological child. This is sadly common with stepparents in Sierra Leone. Yenkay’s mother has not be able to make enough money to start her in school yet. Yenkay wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Her favorite activity is balance ball.
