Abdulais parents both died from illnesses when he was a baby. Abdulai lives with his grandmother who is both deaf and mute. Abdulais grandmother survives off of the benevolence of neighbors and she also begs. She is not able to provide for Abdulai's basic needs, and he is only attending school through his sponsorship. In the future Abdulai would like to become a construction engineer. His favorite subject in school is language arts and he enjoys washing dishes.
