Abdulai's father passed away when he was a child. Now, he lives with his mother, who sells soap in the Tombo community. His mother takes care of Abdulai, and his three siblings, and has seven other children in her care. She cannot adequately provide food and other basic needs for all of the children, including. This leaves Abdulai to sell palm oil for a businessman in the community. Whenever he is given extra oil, Abdulai brings it home and gives it to his mother to cook with. Abdulai has attended school but stopped due to lack of funds to pay for tuition, uniforms, school supplies and other school fees. He wishes to continue his schooling if given the support, and would love to be a doctor in the future. Abdulai's favorite subject is religious and moral education and really enjoys football.
