Tania lives in Batey Lechera in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lechera are Haitian. Tania was born in the Dominican Republic and speaks Spanish. Tania has two siblings and lives with her mother. Her father abandoned the family which made providing for the family even more difficult. Her mother sells fruits on the street to try to sustain the family. Tania graduated from high school in 2022 and is currently taking classes to learn English. She would like to attend cosmetology school. In her free time she likes to make hand crafts.
