Swati Senapati was born into a Hindu family. Swati has an older sister and one younger brother.  Her father is chronically ill, bedridden, and unable to work. Swati's mother is working as a maidservant to try to sustain the family.  Swati's mother is unable to provide for the family's basic needs.  Medical expenses for Swati's father take much of what she earns.  Swati's mother went into a deep depression and wanted to commit suicide. It was during that time that she met Christ and Christ restored the joy to her life. Swati's mother came to know about Mercy Homes through a pastor and requested admittance for Swati into Mercy Homes so that Swati's needs would be met.
