The older generations in Batey Lechería are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Ruth lives with both parents and her four siblings. Her dad provides public transport via motorbike, and her mom sells food on the street. Their combined income is simply not enough to adequately provide for the family. Ruth attends public school and loves math. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her friends. Her favorite color is pink, and she would like to become a doctor in the future.
