Rosemery lives in Batey Lechera in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lechera are Haitian. Rosemery's dad passed away in September of 2015. She is the youngest of five siblings, and her mom works in a cherry plantation to try to provide for the family. Rosemery speaks Spanish and attends the public school that is two miles from their village. During her free time, Rosemery likes to hang out with her friends, and she wants to become a teacher in the future.
