Rosany was born in 2008 and lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Rosany lives with her mother and her nineteen-year-old sister. Her dad abandoned the family a few years ago. Rosany's mother works cleaning homes for a living, but her income is simply not enough to properly sustain the family. Rosany attends public school where her favorite subject is Languages. She enjoys playing soccer and hanging out with her friends. Rosany's favorite color is pink, and she would like to be an attorney in the future.
