Rosana lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Rosana lives with her mom, stepdad, and three siblings; Osmarlin, Maria, and Laura. Her mother is looking for work, and her stepdad works as a security officer in the public school. However, his income cannot adequately provide for all of their children. Rosana attends public school, and her favorite subject is math. She loves to run and play with her friends, and her favorite color is red. Rosana wants to become a police officer in the future.
