Even at her young age, Purvi has seen many hard times. Purvi's mother and father were Hindi. Purvi's father abandoned the family when Purvi was only a few months old. Her mother was not able to hold up under the pressure of the abandonment by her husband and became mentally ill. Now, Purvi's mother cannot even recognize her own children. Purvi has an older brother and an older sister, Pooja, who is also in 25 Project's sponsorship ministry. Purvi's uncle, who is a pastor, requested admittance for the girls into Mercy Homes. Purvi currently lives in the 25 Project Mercy Homes.
