My favorite subject is Math.

I enjoy playing soccer.

I want to be a doctor.

Math is Phawulothando’s favorite subject.  That should suit him well, as his ultimate goal is to become a doctor!  In the meantime, Phawulothando enjoys playing soccer and eating rice and chicken liver.  Red is Phawulothando’s favorite color.  Phawulothando lives at Fort White and attends Intlantsi Christian School during the school week.  On the weekends, he travels back to his village, Mnqaba, where he lives with his mother.  Fort White has the most modern amenities available in the area.  However, the surrounding villages are quite different.  In most villages, people collect water from a communal tap and use outhouses.  Though they have access to electricity, most villagers cannot afford to pay for an electric meter. Most of our children have grown up attending no-fee schools in their village, where they are provided what may be their only meal of the day.  Phawulothando means “mark of love,” and we pray that Phawulothando comes to share the mark of God’s love.
