Pamela was born in 2010 and lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Pamela lives with both grandparents in a humble house with her siblings, Paola and Estarlin. Pamela's father abandoned the family years ago, and  her mother left them and moved to the city. Her grandfather works as a security man but cannot adequately provide for the children. Pamela attends public school, and her favorite subject is math. Pamela's favorite color is pink, and she would like to become a doctor in the future.
