Osman lives with his grandmother who is a woodcutter. His mother died ten years ago when he was only two years old. When his mother passed away, his father abandoned the family, leaving all of the responsibility of caring for the children to Osman's grandmother. Since his grandmother can't sufficiently provide for Osman's basic needs, Osman finds work by fetching wood in the Tombo Forest. At times, he also has found work helping other woodcutters to sell their wood on a commercial basis. Osman has never been to school due to lack of funds to pay for tuition, uniforms, school supplies and other school fees. His desire is to be able to go to school. Osman would like to be a doctor in the future.
