Morlai lives with his parents. His father is a fisherman and his mother is a woodcutter. His father lives a polygamist lifestyle and has two wives and five children. This has made it impossible for him to provide sufficient food and other basic needs for the entire family. In a desperate attempt to provide food and other needs for himself, Morlai works by gathering scrap metals and cups in drainages to sell to make money. Due to the lack of funds to pay for school and his need to work, Morlai stopped going to school for two years. He is currently in Class IV. His wish is to continue school without further disruption.
