Monserrat was born in 2009 and lives with her mother and younger brother Alejandro in the village of Batey Lecheria. Her father abandoned the family, so her mother cleans homes for a living. Her income is simply not enough to adequately provide for the family. Monserrat attends public school, and her favorite subject is language arts. Monserrat loves playing soccer, and her favorite color is red. She would like to one day become an engineer.
