Mohamed lives with his aunt, a fish trader in the Tombo community. His father is a fisherman but does not work often due to constant illnesses. Mohamed's mother separated from his father seven years ago because of the lack of financial support. Four years ago, she abandoned the family completely. Now, Mohamed's aunt is the caretaker of the home and cannot adequately provide food and other basic needs for him. He struggles with a disability in his foot so he cannot find odd jobs like other children can. Instead, he stays home and helps his aunt with the fish. Mohamed has never attended school due to a lack of funds to pay for tuition, uniforms, school supplies, and other school fees. He wishes to attend school if given the support and would love to be a teacher in the future. Mohamed enjoys watching football.
