My favorite subject is Math.

Although Liyanqoba is at home at Intlantsi Christian School in Fort White during the school week, he returns on weekends to the small village of Joji, where he lives with his grandmother. Fort White has the most modern amenities available in the area.  However, the surrounding villages are quite different.  In most villages, people collect water from a communal tap and use outhouses.  Though they have access to electricity, most villagers cannot afford to pay for an electric meter. Most of our children, like Liyanqoba, have grown up attending no-fee schools in their village, where they are provided what may be their only meal of the day.  Intlantsi provides quite a different life for Liyanqoba!  At Intlantsi, Liyanqoba’s favorite meal is pizza!  His favorite color is midnight blue, and his favorite sport is soccer.  Math is Liyanqoba’s favorite subject, which should serve him well since he wants to become a brain surgeon.  Liyanqoba means “God is winning,” and we pray God will continue to “win” in Liyanqoba’s life.
