Lamin lives with his stepfather, his mother's first husband, who is a fisherman. His parents separated five years ago. His mother makes food in her home to sell. Lamin's stepfather cannot adequately provide food and other basic needs for him and his family so Lamin often has to visit his mother for food. However, his mother's husband does not want to see Lamin around their home and will run him off. This situation has caused Lamin serious traumatic stress. He therefore hangs out where the gamblers are busy all sorts of gambling games. Lamin also works organizing fish to be dried in a fish shack (Banda), packs fish in fish baskets and transports fish and other loads in and out of the Tombo community. Lamin was forced to quit school because there was no money to pay for his school tuition, uniform, supplies and other school fees. He stopped attending school in Class IV. His great desire is to resume school if given the opportunity. Lamin would like to be a professional soccer player in the future.
