Lamin was born in 2009. His mother does not know the exact date of his birth so we celebrate his birthday on January 1st. Lamin lives with his mother who sells vegetables such as potatoes and cassava leaves to try to sustain the family. Lamin's father abandoned the family when he was very young. His mother has struggled greatly to sustain the family since her husband abandoned them. Lamin's mother cannot sufficiently provide sufficient food or meet Lamin's other basic needs. On a daily basis, Lamin goes to the Pepper Wharf in search of leftover fish to eat. He is often unsuccessful in finding leftover fish and goes without food. Lamin would like to be a teacher in the future.
