Kimberly lives in Batey Lechera in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lechera are Haitian. She lives with both parents and her five siblings. Kimberly's mom is very sick, and her dad broke his leg. Prior to breaking his leg, her dad sold items to try and provide for his family. Kimberly speaks Spanish, and she attends the public school that is two miles from her village. Math is her favorite subject. In her free time, Kimberly likes to play with her friends. She would like to become a teacher one day.
