Kendy lives in the Dominican Republic in the village of Batey Lecheria with his mom and little sister, Sofia. His father left the family, and his mother prepares food to sell to try to provide for her family’s basic needs. Kendy has started attending school which is about a 10-minute walk from his village, and he loves learning to read and doing his homework. His favorite food is casabe, and his favorite colors are yellow and green. During his free time, he enjoys playing with his friends and hopes to become a police officer someday.
