Jean Greffin lives with with his mom and his older brother, Hans, in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Lecheria is a predominantly Haitian village. Like many villages in the Dominican Republic, people often settle and build makeshift homes on land they do not own. Jean's dad still lives in Haiti, and his mom has had trouble finding work and is unable to provide for his basic needs. Jean attends public school, and his favorite subject is math. In his free time, he loves to play soccer. His favorite color is yellow, and he would like to become a doctor in the future.
