Ibrahim's mother and father separated when he was eight. His father abandoned Ibrahim and his elder brother and provided no financial assistance. Ibrahim's mother was unable to take care of them so they took to the streets together to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, more heartbreak was in store for Ibrahim when his elder brother fell ill with pneumonia and passed away. After his brother's death, Ibrahim continued to stay out on the streets. Ibrahim continues to carry loads, wash dishes and collect plastic bottles to make his living. He stopped school in Junior Senior Secondary I. Thanks to his sponsorship, he has been able to continue his education and his favorite subject is literature. He hopes to be a minister one day.
