Hawanatu lives with her mother and 2 other siblings. Her father is a farmer and lives full-time in a village far from Monkey Bush. Her father left the family to find a better opportunity, and this left her mother as the sole provider. Hawanatu's mother works as a small business trader and struggles to provide for their needs. There are days where there is no way for her mother to feed her children if she is unable to sell enough. Hawanatu loves going to school, but is always sad when asked out because her mother cannot pay the school fees. Thanks to her sponsorship, she has been able to continue her education. She is currently in Class 3. Hawantu wants to become a teacher, and her favorite subject is math.
