Hassanatu lives with her aunt who sells wood for a living. Hassanatu’s father left the family some time ago, and her mother passed away this year. Her aunt has three children of her own, as well as Hassanatu to care for, so she cannot sufficiently provide for their basic needs. Hassanatu often helps nearby neighbors with domestic work in exchange for food. She has never been to school due to lack of funds but wants to go if given the opportunity. She likes to play dodgeball and wants to be a doctor.
