Flordani was born in 2013 and lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Flordani lives with her mother. Her father abandoned the family some time ago. Her mother works cleaning homes, but her income generated from this work is simply not enough to properly sustain the family. Flordani attends public school where her favorite subject is math. Her favorite color is red, and she hopes to become a teacher one day.
