Darimar lives in Batey Lecheria, a village on the outskirts of Santo Domingo located in the area of Los Alcarrizos. Villages are generally divided into Dominican villages or Haitian villages. Lecheria is a predominantly Haitian village. Like many villages in the Dominican Republic, people often settle and build makeshift homes on land they do not own. Darimar lives with both parents and and her three siblings; Diobel, Brenda, and Marian. Her dad works as a delivery man, trying to provide for the family. Darimar's mom lost her job, and cannot find work. Darimar attends public school, and her favorite subject is languages. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends. Darimar's favorite color is purple, and she wants to become a doctor in the future.
