Dageiri lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. Dageiri lives with her grandmother and her sister Dairen. They live in a very small home. Her grandmother sells avocados and other vegetables for a living, and though mom remains in Haiti, she sends money sometimes. Her dad abandoned the family many years ago. Dageiri attends public school and loves reading books. Her favorite color is pink, and she hopes to become a doctor one day.
