Anshika was born into a Christian family. She has three younger sisters. The village where she was raised is a very small village with limited resources. Anshika's father worked to support the family, however he abandoned the family. This left Anshika's mother, who had raised the girls and was a housewife, to figure out how to sustain the family. She found work in the fields as daily laborer but even so, her earnings are not sufficient to fulfill even the basic needs of her four girls. It is not uncommon for the family to not have any food to eat. Anshika's mother has therefore requested admittance for Anshika and her sister Shreya into Mercy Homes. Anshika's favorite color is white and she would like to become a teacher in the future.
