Anetha lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Anetha lives with both of her parents and two siblings, Abel and Asnel. Her mother does not work, and her father occasionally works in construction. Their income cannot adequately provide for all of their children. Anetha attends public school, and her favorite subject is math. In her free time, she loves to play volleyball with her friends. Her favorite color is pink, and she wants to become a doctor one day.
