Aminata lives with both parents. Her parents grow and sell vegetables for a living. They do their best to provide for their family, but they are not able to afford both their basic needs and school costs. Aminata is in Class 3, but when school fees are due, she is asked out until her parents can pay towards the balance. Aminata is also expected to help her parents in the garden after school to help the family business, so she has little time to study in the evenings. Her favorite subject in school is English. She wants to be a bank manager when she grows up, and her favorite thing to do is the laundry.
