Amahle lives with her aunt. Her sister lives with her father, who is in another province looking for work. This is not unusual for the community. Amahle's mother gave up custody of her when Amahle was just an infant. Amahle began attending Intlansi Christian School (ICS) in January of 2021, as an 8th grader. Amahle would like to become a doctor. Amahle lives at Intlantsi Christian School in Fort White, South Africa during the week and goes home to her village on the weekend.
