Alusine lives with his grandmother, a cookery seller in the Tombo community. His father passed away when he was a child, and one year later, his mother passed away due to complications while giving birth. His grandmother decided to help him but cannot sufficiently provide food and other basic needs for him. Because of this, he is often searching for waste, water plastics, rubbers, cups, and scrap metals at drainages or dustbins to make money. Alusine has never attended school due to a lack of funds to pay for tuition, uniforms, school supplies and other school fees. He desires to go to school if given the support and would love to be a doctor in the future. Alusine's favorite pastime is to play football.
