Alimamy was born in 2006. His mother does not know the exact date of his birth so we celebrate his birthday on January 1st. Alimamy lived with his father and stepmother, who are fish traders. His parents separated eight years ago and abandoned him. Alimamy has survived on his own with help from friends and neighbors since he was a small boy. Later, his dad remarried and they decided to bring him home. After some time, Alimamy's stepmother started severely mistreating him, which is very common in Sierra Leone. Alimamy finally decided he could not take the mistreatment of his stepmother and decided to go live on the streets again. Alimamy works clearing fish from the fish nets after they are drug in and transporting fish baskets down to the Pepper Wharf, the market, the park, or fish smoking shacks. Alimamy would like to be a scientist in the future.
