Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Alex lives with his mother, stepfather, and two siblings, Jymmy and Melisa. His father abandoned the family when Alex was six years old. Alex's stepfather collects stones at the river for a living but does not make enough to adequately provide for his family. Alex attends public school, and his favorite subject is math. In his free time, he enjoys playing baseball with friends. His favorite color is red, and he would like to become a doctor in the future.
