Aideline was born in 2012 and lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Aideline lives with her mom and her sister Genesis in a very humble home. Aideline's father abandoned the family when her mom was pregnant with her. Mom sells groceries and veggies for a living, but the income generated from selling small groceries and veggies is not sufficient to sustain the family. Aideline attends public school, and her favorite subject is reading. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her friends. Aideline's favorite color is red, and she would like to be a doctor in the future.
