Wilder lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Wilder lives with his parents and three siblings, Wilcannia, Wilquendy, and Wilmer. His mother does not work, and his father recently lost his job as a concierge, so he is looking for work. As a result, his parents cannot adequately provide for all of their children. Wilder attends public school, and language arts is his favorite subject. He enjoys playing baseball and hanging out with his friends, and his favorite color is green. Wilder wants to become a professional baseball player one day.
