Cristian was born in 2011 and lives in Batey Lecheria in the Dominican Republic. Batey is the Haitian word for village. The older generations in Batey Lecheria are Haitian. Life for Haitians in the Dominican is difficult. Cristian lives with both of his parents and his siblings in a very humble home. Cristian's father works in construction, and his mother works in a cherry plantation collecting cherries. Their combined income is simply not enough to properly sustain the family. Cristian attends public school where his favorite subject is art .His favorite color is blue, and he would like to become a teacher in the future.
